Distractions Stress Change Performance
Many of us are experiencing an unprecedented amount of stress and anxiety. Family, friends, careers, vaccinations, professional and personal changes, managing family and work and trying to fit in some spring cleaning and FUN. There is always much to do. It fills my heart when I can help others to manage and embrace their pivots and struggles.
I love formulas. Performance = Potential – Distractions
Stress and anxiety take away from your performance. Every day we perform. We are mothers and fathers, we are employees, we are friends, we are volunteers. You are your best self when you are aware of your thoughts, your emotions, and making good conscious choices. Each performance is an opportunity to grow, learn, and develop.
BUT sometimes you are overwhelmed, exhausted, uncertain, doubting yourself, and paralyzed. You encounter STRESS!!! When stress is present, it distracts you!!! These distractions keep you from being productive, effective, embracing change, being fulfilled, learning, fearless, confident, and enjoying the present moment.
There are 6 distractions that interfere and keep you from getting tasks done, completing goals, and getting it done with enthusiasm, elevated energy, 100% engagement.
Let us take a peek …
Spiritual stress occurs when whatever you are doing causes you to question your values, purpose, goals, connections, and beliefs.
Emotional stress occurs when you feel as if your needs, desires, or expectations are not being met, or when you encounter a situation that you don’t understand or don’t know how to navigate, or when you do not know how to express emotions effectively.
Mental stress occurs when you multi-task, stretch yourself too thin or have conflicting demands, or when a task either bores you or is too challenging.
Physical stress occurs when your body is not able to function in an optimal manner, or in the way you are accustomed.
Social stress occurs when social conditions (people around you) aren’t optimal for you.
Environmental stress occurs when you encounter an environment/condition that you believe prevents you from functioning in an optimal manner.
What distractions are resonating with you? What is showing up for you? What would be different if you can make some changes?
GOOD NEWS. Everything has a beginning, a middle, and an end! You have the power of choices. With awareness, acceptance, and a plan, you can begin to make small changes and alleviate your worry, your fear, and begin enjoying what you do again. You will be peaceful.
